My name is Iris Xiong, and I am a student from UVIC.
I was born and raised in China. I only came to Canada for my undergraduate studies at Uvic a few years ago.
My passion for open education and learning is driven by my enthusiasm for acquiring new skills that may otherwise not be offered as a regular curriculum at school. I believe that open education and learning is the new future for a more democratized and decentralized way of sharing knowledge and exchanging information.
My own interests are in computer science, fine arts, machine learning, film, cultural studies, and digital media. I sincerely hope to share my thoughts about this course with the class in an interactive and technologically-driven way.
